FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Interconnect Systems Solution brings low-cost PCI controller chip with an ISA-like interface.

Cost sensitive ISA adapter cards can now migrate to PCI.

Lake Forest, CA - July 27, 1999 -- Interconnect Systems Solution, a premier provider of low cost bus interconnect components, announced the availability of a PCI chip today. This new chip, the PCI-ISA-001™, enables adapter card vendors to re-target their ISA card design to industry standard PCI architecture. PCI-ISA-001 achieves this by providing an interface very similar to ISA bus and an elegant Direct Memory Access (DMA) engine. The simplicity of the ISA bus architecture presents a very attractive option for even designing new PCI adapter products that require throughput similar to the ISA bus. Most off-the-shelf ASIC components available for ISA adapter cards today can be directly interfaced with PCI-ISA-001 to adapt them for PCI.

"We can reproduce the benefits of existing low-cost ISA adapter card market" said Khan Kibria, President of ISS. "PCI card vendors needed a PCI controller chip that is comparable to the ISA component cost for a long time. PCI-ISA-001 helps accomplish this."

"We are dedicated to bring low cost PCI components to adapter card designers," states Khan. "Our commitment will set an example in the market place and allow easy migration of proven inexpensive designs that will continue to benefit consumers."
