Interconnect Systems Solution brings low cost SCI cores

System developers benefit from 100-200 megabytes per second bandwidth

Lake Forest, CA -- March 31, 1997 -- Interconnect Systems Solution, a premier provider of low cost interconnect technology for distributed processing and network solutions that ensure high data rate, today announced availability of an ASIC core. This new core, the LincChip-8™ based on IEEE standard 1596 called Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI), enables systems developers to integrate their value add proprietary functions with SCI packet transport capability in the same ASIC device.

With this latest core product, developers can tie multiple processor, memory and I/O devices without designing costly interconnect switches which improves their time to market.

"This represents quite an achievement for ISS and LincChip users," said Khan Kibria, President of ISS. "We took simple approach to design this since SCI architecture is simple and compact, yet quite powerful, and all for under twenty five thousand gates."

"We are dedicated to develop solutions for today's and tomorrows interconnect needs," states Khan. "Our innovations will set examples in the market place and this SCI core represents ISS's commitment to delivering powerful interconnect solutions."
